INTRODUCING KONDUCT

KONDUCT is a range of thermally conductive polymer compounds and masterbatches to solve all thermal management challenges.

‚Äč

It is available for a wide range of base polymers, incorporating thermally conductive functional additives to suit your requirements.

THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE

KONDUCT can assist in selecting additive(s) and addition levels to meet your specific thermal management challenges.

Plastics and elastomers typically possess low thermal conductivity (in the range of 0.1-0.3W/mK) and are classed as thermal insulators.  In thermal management situations where far higher levels of thermal conductivity are required, materials such as metals and/or ceramics are traditionally utilised.

By utilising treated plastics and elastomers in such scenarios would allow their additional benefits to be taken advantage of, for example lower weight, resistance to corrosion, toughness and ease/speed of manufacture.

ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE

Polymers are typically classed as electronically insulating materials and are often used for insulation applications in electrical devices.  However, there are many applications which call for traditional benefits of polymers over, for example, metals (low weight, no corrosion etc) whilst also requiring specific levels of electrical conductivity.

There are several methods available to impart varying degrees of electrical conductivity to polymers, depending upon the specific requirements of the application.

The chart (above) illustrates the conductivity ranges of surface resistance between plastics & metals.
