SteriTouch expands in South America with Rochesa deal

Abertillery-based SteriTouch®, leading UK manufacturer and supplier of antimicrobial additives and compounds, is growing its business in South America through a new collaboration with Brazilian chemicals company Rochesa SA.

Part of the Sider Group, Rochesa develops products for the treatment, conservation and surface finishing of wood and actively seeks out specialist European technologies to integrate into its offering.  This first order is for a SteriTouch® additive to help reduce and prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi on timber doors, a common problem in the humid climates of South America; it will provide Rochesa’s door-manufacturing customer with new product options to improve competitive advantage in its domestic market.  The timber treatment formulation is being produced at Rochesa’s plant in Brazil and the company expects to expand its use of SteriTouch® antimicrobials into other applications in the future.

This is not the first South American customer for SteriTouch®, as Director Huw Durban explains: “We already do business in Venezuela, Colombia and Argentina and see South America as a huge growth area.  Our Business Development Manager is also a linguist, which helps immensely when approaching export markets.”

The company’s combination of technical ability and customer support is welcomed by Gleidson Cardoso from Rochesa’s Department of Foreign Trade: “Rochesa chose SteriTouch® because of the credibility, reliability, partnership and brand recognition worldwide; for us it is the best brand in this market sector.  We thank them for all the help and understanding with this first application.”
